As reported by Censor.NET, colonel's wife Marharyta Kushnirova told Hromadske TV.
According to her, four persons in civilian clothes came to detain her husband. They showed the search and arrest warrant reading that Ivan Beziazykov was suspected of collaborating with the militants of the self-proclaimed "DPR".
"Being a prisoner of the illegal armed group of the self-proclaimed "DPR" intelligence directorate", he joined the aforementioned detachment and served there as the first deputy head of the human intelligence department," the warrant reads.
The law enforcers seized computers, tablets, memory cards, cameras and cell phones from Beziazykov's house.
He was taken to a detention center and provided with legal aid. The court is going to choose a pre-trial restriction against him on Dec. 13. He can be held in custody for 72 hours before the court hearing.
Beziazykov's wife is convinced that her husband is not guilty.
"They indeed proposed him to defect and tried to convert him, but he refused. Everyone knew it. He told about it when he was freed from captivity," she said.
