"I consider such inaction of the law enforcement bodies and the government totally unacceptable. Officials reasonably accused of corruption must be dismissed or at least suspended from their posts for the time of investigation and trial. I expect effective reaction to the mentioned facts," the letter reads.

Earlier, at a meeting of the Regional Development Council, the president underlined the importance of creating an atmosphere of zero tolerance to corruption in society. "A real fight against corruption requires significant assistance despite the fact that we still have problems in the judicial system and the parliament hasn't voted for the laws that would finally put an end to remanding corrupt officials on bail. No one has a right to be untouchable, we must take efforts to gain people's trust," Petro Poroshenko noted.
