Head of the Main Investigation Department of the SBU (Security Service of Ukraine) Hryhorii Ostafiichuk said at a briefing, Censor.NET reports citing Interfax-Ukraine.
According to him, it was reported that fire-arms were found in Holosiivskyi district of Kyiv on Aug. 12, 2015. "Fragments of fire-arms have been found in the water and on the coast," he said.
Examination showed that the weapons were used in Maidan shooting. "Examinations took a long time... Yes, these weapons were related to the events on the Maidan."
Ostafiichuk added that further examinations will show whether protesters were killed from these fire-arms.

Head of the Department of Special Investigations of the Main Investigation Department of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine Serhii Horbatiuk explained that the weapons belonged to Berkut.
"We revealed 23 fragments of Kalashnikov weapons... Back then 24 Berkut rifles disappeared. We have identified 12 of them. These are the same arms we were looking for," he stressed.
Photos of the found weapons were published on Twitter of the SBU.
Earlier, it was reported that weaponry used to kill Maidan activists was found.
