The Australian government is ready to allocate $1 million for humanitarian assistance to Ukraine through the International Committee of the Red Cross, Censor.NET reports citing the head of state press service. Australia will also consider the possibility of deepening military-technical cooperation and, as its first stage, is sending to Ukraine a shipment of military equipment and means of warming. Prime Minister of Australia Tony Abbott said this during a telephone conversation with President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko.
The press service of the President of Ukraine reports of Abbott saying that Australia is ready to launch programs of teaching, training and equipping the Ukrainian servicemen. Poroshenko thanked Abbott for the timely help and support.
Australian Prime Minister also expressed his intention to visit Ukraine on an official visit. He said that, according to the preliminary agreement, Australia establishes embassy in Kyiv, which will be operational in the near future. This will facilitate acquisition of the consular services by the Ukrainian citizens and the Ukrainians will be able to easily travel to Australia.
